J.P. Macura has narrowed his list of schools to Minnesota, Creighton, Xavier, Purdue and Iowa State.
Macura will take an official visit to Xavier on Sept. 6 and likely Iowa State on Sept. 15.
The 6-foot-5 Macura eliminated Butler from consideration when Brad Stevens took the Boston Celtics job.
“I had a good relationship with the new head coach and most of the players when I went on a visit,” Macura told Gopherhole.com. “It is hard to say no to them, but I think it was a good choice because Brad (Stevens) is not there and that is a huge, huge thing for him to be there.”
Goodluck Okonoboh has trimmed his list to five schools — Indiana, Duke, Florida, Ohio State and UNLV.
The 6-foot-9, 220-pound Okonoboh often draws comparisons to Nerlens Noel.
Okonoboh is a top-40 player in the 2014 class.
Kaleb Joseph, a 6-foot-3 guard from Nashua, N.H., committed to Syracuse on Saturday.
"It's something I've always wanted to do," Joseph said of playing for Syracuse. "In the back of my mind it's always where I wanted to be. I've always been a Syracuse fan. It just felt right."
A top-60 player in the 2014 class, Joseph chose the Orange over Providence and West Virginia, among others.
Seton Hall picked up a verbal commitment from Angel Delgado, a 6-foot-9 forward from the Dominican Republic.
Delgado chose Seton Hall over Kentucky, Virginia, Florida State and Fordham.
